Jackie’s Senior Session Was A Jewel!

Jackie’s senior session was a jewel, and yet it almost didn’t happen.  At least not on this day… The weather forecasts were getting worse by the day that week and when we woke up that morning it looked pretty bleak – a 3:00 start with a 3:00 storm coming according to the hourly forecast.  Well by 10 the forecast changed and the storm moved out to later in the day so we scrambled a little, moved everything up to beat the rain and we even ended up with enough time to start in the studio before we went outside.  And so there we were on location with great conditions and our stunning senior!  But first let’s start with the studio photos.

We focused largely on our black background and Ally captured a dramatic image of Jackie in this full length photo.

session was a jewel

Jackie made this a really fun session with a couple of her poses.  We love this next one and the tutu (which you’ll see in a sec) but they aren’t necessarily in every portfolio we create.  Jackie knows what she likes when she sees it and we show the photos of tutus along with this pose lying down in many of our consultations but not everyone runs with them.  This photo really shows off Jackie’s pretty eyes…

Stunning right?  This would also be a good time to give a shout out to Gloria at The Beauty Lounge down the hall for the great job on Jackie’s makeup.  Next it was time to head out on location with our updated forecast.  We had a 5 minute drizzle at one point and that was it as our lucky streak for the week continued!  We love Jackie in this next photo in the tutu, and how great are the shoes with this outfit?  When we first got these tutus we thought they would be great for little girls – and they are, but every year a couple seniors wear them and they are so fun!

Here is our fun behind the scenes vine of the session:

Okay one more of Jackie in her cute little pineapple dress!

So there it is – definitely a jewel of a session with Jackie.  We hope you enjoyed these as much as we enjoyed our time with her!

Springtime Spokesmodeling With Gabrielle!

Yes let me repeat that title – SPRINGTIME spokesmodeling with Gabrielle!  We finally got a picture with some green in it for our last (but definitely not least) spokesmodel from the upcoming senior class of 2015!  We have put a wrap on our spokesmodel sessions and now we are preparing for senior photo sessions starting next month.  Yes we have already started booking them and no it’s not too early to get on the schedule for yours!  So with that said, let us get to a few stunning photos from Gabrielle’s session shall we?

Springtime Spokesmodeling

We have actually photographed Gabrielle before and gotten to know her family over the last couple years which always adds another element of fun for us.  As with every one of our female spokesmodels this year we started out in the studio briefly with our “black and blowy” set up which is always a winner.  Gabrielle landed this shot with perfection!

Next we went outside on what started out as a rainy day which we were a little nervous about.  The color came a little late this year with the brutal winter we had and it was this day or bust based on our schedules.  But the sun did indeed come out and we also had the advantage of an assistant and location scout on this shoot – Gabrielle’s boyfriend J. Edward!  That was a first for us and he really added to the proceedings.  What a great guy and a great help on the session!

Springtime Spokesmodeling

Ahhhh – now doesn’t that look nice?  Here is our fun behind the scenes vine from the day:

Beauty and the Bees (and some other bugs)!

Our latest senior session was perfect.  The light was perfect, the weather was perfect, the setting was perfect, and our senior looked stunning!

We started with a little studio work…

High School Senior Picture

We then went on location where as I mentioned everything was perfect….except for the bugs…  and the “threat” of bullfrogs.  This girl does not enjoy bugs or bullfrogs.  The bullfrogs in the area only made themselves known once or twice with a random loud croak or two, but the bees, beetles and one random flying bug decided to get involved in the session.  It all worked out – the beetles on the flower we were using kept to themselves (even though they briefly scared our model), and the bees didn’t sting us or her.  The one random flying bug flew right into her eye at one point but didn’t stay, and for not being a fan of bees she still looks pretty comfortable by the flowers where they were buzzing around!  She’s a real sweetheart with a great sense of style – we laughed a lot and we had a really fun time together!  Love these shots!

We even made a fun vine from the session…  🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day Starring The Baby For All Seasons!!!

We have been photographing this little superstar since he was born and he’s pretty scrumptious.  You can actually see he’s yummy below because his mommy was eating him up and left kisses all over him!!!  So this photo will serve as our Happy Valentine’s Day wish to you starring one of our favorite little Frameables!

Valentine's Day baby

Happy Valentine’s Day!

As a bonus you’ll see why we’ve referred to him as the “baby for all seasons” because he came to the studio in October and transformed into a tasty little chunky pumpkin, and yes this was a real pumpkin!  It was chilly in there but he didn’t complain – he totally rocked that shoot and as you can imagine we had a ton of fun with both of these shoots.  Each session attracted a crowd of smiling people outside the studio – how could you look at these and not smile?  🙂

Happy Halloween baby

What A Fun Way To Spend A Holiday! Part 2!!!

Yesterday we posted some peaks from a family session we did on Christmas day and we mentioned that it was one of two families we photographed that day, and to stay tuned for the other one….   Well here is the other one – this is “part two” of What A Fun Way To Spend A Holiday!West Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography

We couldn’t have asked for better back to back families that day.  We have a couple of connections to this family and this was the first time we had all four of them in the studio together for a photo session.  Lots of good music being jammed and discussed, and a lot of just general catching up being done.  Great people, great photos!  We even took a photo of these two extremely sophisticated gentlemen worthy of the cover of Cigar Aficianado!  😉West Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces PhotographyWest Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces PhotographyWest Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography

What A Fun Way To Spend A Holiday!

This was a fantastic session and it took place on Christmas day!  The funny thing is when we tell people that we were shooting on Christmas day their first reaction is confusion – “Really?”…  “On Christmas?”  But think about it – everyone is together, everyone is happy (right?) and what better way to celebrate family on an important day than to take pictures together?

This was actually one of two awesome families we photographed that day (stay tuned for the other one) and a memorable day it was!  We had a lot of laughs with this group – they were a very lively gang (there was laughing, wisecracking and yes – even some singing), not to mention a great looking group!  Stylish, athletic, glamorous – all represented in this crew!  Enjoy!West Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces PhotographyWest Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces PhotographyWest Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography

Frameable Flashbacks! – Chelsea

Welcome to our second edition of Frameable Flashbacks!  This is where we celebrate and check in with our former high school seniors to see what they are up to – sort of our version of “where are they now?”  The first one we did with Hannah Iwrey was a lot of fun, and now we check in with West Bloomfield High School Class of 2011 graduate Chelsea Cage!

One of Chelsea's senior pictures

Chelsea brought us her older brother Chad for his senior pics when she was a junior and we recruited her to be a spokesmodel.  She has been a huge part of our studio and of our lives over the past few years.  She literally helped lay the foundation here and rarely do you get a chance to meet someone as beautiful inside and out as Chelsea – she is the genuine article and she is like family to us!  We love when she comes back to visit and this time we snapped a couple of quick shots including one of her holding her canvas that used to hang on the wall of the studio.

Chelsea with....Chelsea!

Here’s what she had to say:

Frameable Faces:  So what are you up to?

Chelsea:  I’m currently studying at Michigan State University, and I love being a Spartan!!!  I’m a teaching assistant, and I’m the publicity chair of the National Association of Black Accountants (MSU Chapter).

Frameable Faces:  What are your future plans with your studies (what do you want to be when you grow up)?
Chelsea:  I want to go into business; either accounting or supply chain management. I want to work for a Fortune 500 company.

Chelsea and Doug catch up!

Frameable Faces:  What do you remember most about your Frameable Faces experience?
Chelsea:  What I love most about my Frameable Faces is the relationship I built with Doug and Ally :-).  It’s nice to know that I’m always welcome to stop by the studio and hang out!  And having my picture in the window for a year was pretty cool!

Another beautiful shot from Chelsea's senior session!

Another Frameable Family Of Four!

We had a great time with this family!  We didn’t know them before they came to our studio but found out we have mutual friends – this seems to happen quite a bit!  What a couple of great kids – handsome boys and lots of fun!  Things got a little crazy in here with jumping photos and everyone got into the act, but for now we’ll spare them the publishing of those for mass consumption – lol!  Meanwhile enjoy these peaks of a great couple and their two studly young men!

“Frameables In The Hood”

Yo – this family is soooo GANGSTA.  Be intimidated.  Be very intimidated…..

West Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography

We have a lot of fun with them because every year they come in with a new fun theme and this year was no different!  We were cracking up during this session!

Frameables In The Hood!

Should You Take Photos In The Snow…..?

Going outside during the winter in the cold and snow to take photos isn’t always on everyone’s priority list, but think about it – a snowy backdrop can be beautiful!  Sure you may have to be cold for a little bit but the results are often worth it.

Well “thankfully” as of this writing it is December 21, 2012, the world is still here, and along with the continued existence of the world we have the existence of (a little) snow here in Michigan for the first time this winter!  This is what got us thinking about the snow and we have indeed had some fun photo sessions in the snow over the years so we thought in honor of old man winter we would post a few together!

So, should you take photos in the snow?  YES!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow……
