Everything Was Coming Up Roses With Rose on Her Spokesmodel Session!

We became instant fans of Rose – it didn’t take long.  Actually we’re fans of Rose and her mom Sharyn whom we recently did a headshot for and we were with Rose at the BBYO Building Entrepreneurship event recently so we’ve become fast friends!  Rose is a character in the best way – she’s funny – and she’s smart, adorable, dynamic – all the things!  We’re thrilled to have her representing our studio for the rising high school class of 2023 at Walled Lake Northern!

Coming Up Roses

We spent a gorgeous day in Birmingham for her spokesmodel session which has always been a popular spot for our seniors, so let’s get to a few highlights shall we?

Coming Up Roses

Yes!  This was a new spot and angle for Ally and Rose nailed it.  We also need to give a shout out to our neighbors in the mall The Beauty Lounge for Rose’s hair and makeup!

Next we changed spots and outfits (our seniors typically change outfits several times for senior sessions) and we fired up the Facebook Live for a little behind the scenes fun!

And here’s the result!

Coming Up Roses

Gorgeous girl!

Another outfit change and….wow.

Coming Up Roses

This was the one that got Sharyn…  a really sweet moment when mom got emotional over her baby looking so beautiful.  I grabbed a pic with the iPhone…

Gets us in the feels…

Okay back to some more behind the scenes fun this time from Instagram:

Oh but we’re not done… we have a little bonus…

Rose was posing for this next pic when THE most adorable little photobomber decided to join us – we asked and her mom said yes, so here you go!

Everything was coming up Roses indeed – Rose was making friends!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her as we look forward to the fast approaching senior season – we can’t wait to get her in front of Ally’s camera again!

Ellory Was Ready For Good Vibes And Her Modeling Closeup!

Ellory came to the studio this week with her mom Jodi for some good vibes, her modeling closeup and some fun!  We definitely got all three.  What a sharp and adorable girl she is and we really had a blast so let’s take a look at some highlights!

Ellory Was Ready For Good Vibes

We photographed the whole session on the black backdrop but with a few different styles and we’ll start with some Good Vibes right off the bat!

Ellory

The laughing photo is a fun one to set the stage – this girl couldn’t keep the SERIOUS pose for too long without just a little giggling.

We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook Live:

And now let’s change up a couple of styles!  We broke out the fan for some of that “black and blowy” glam!

Ellory

Ellory is such a rock star!

We also have some fun behind the scenes on this too but for whatever reason I’ve been struggling with the audio and covering the mic when we go live on Instagram.  No idea why….  we’ve been livestreaming on Periscope and other platforms for 3 years with no problem but for some reason we’re a little snake bitten on Instagram.  BUT – in this case it’s kind of funny…. if you watch at the 48 second mark I ask Ellory what she wants to do with her life and her reaction is priceless.  First I played around with her acting shocked that she didn’t know, and then I let her off the hook telling her I didn’t know until less than 10 years ago.  It’s pretty cute.

Let’s also give a shout out to Valoria at The Beauty Lounge for Ellory’s hair – that’s Valoria making an appearance in the livestream too.

Now let’s wrap it up with a couple more photos!  This next one is really nice – Ellory is wearing her mom’s dress here!

Ellory

And one more – a fun close up from above:

Ellory

Totes Adorbs!!!

And there you have it – you can see we had so much fun with this little whirlwind of cuteness and we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

Class of 2016 Spokesmodels – Off And Running With Rachel!

Yes it’s that time of the year again when we start preparing for the upcoming class of 2016 senior photo season with highlights of our awesome new spokesmodels!  This is always a very exciting time for us as we enter into these new relationships with these impressive young future leaders as they inspire us and make us laugh.  Making new friends is the best part of what we do and our new roster is shaping up to be another wonderful crew.  While this winter may not be quite as brutal as last year’s was, it’s been pretty cold lately so we’ll probably be starting off with a lot of studio work which is fine since we had to replace some backdrops that we lost in the “great Frameable Faces flood of 2015”.

Meanwhile Rachel is the first spokesmodel we would like to share photos of with you and the only one we photographed before the flood hit us.  She’s a West Bloomfield Laker and she’s great – she’s a dancer, she’s on the pom team and she’s just a cool girl all around.  We’re happy to kick it off with her, so without further adieu here we go – off and running with Rachel for 2016!

First we started with our black background which we played around with a bit – the blowy, a couple outfits and we’re going to start off with this soft black and white shot with this cute headband. Running With RachelRachel looked great and with her we focused mainly on just her – simple, solid colors, a variety of outfits and Rachel’s smile.  Now would probably be a good time for a shout out to Gloria at The Beauty Lounge for the makeup!  Let’s look at the brown background next:

Running With Rachel

This is a great combo for her skin tone, hair and the maroon and beige colors.  As we did last year we are continuing with our fun behind the scenes vines of our sessions and here is Rachel’s:

Let’s move to the blue that you see in the vine next… the different colors seem to bring out different shades of color in her beautiful eyes!

Running With Rachel

And lastly we broke out the red and we love the way Rachel was engaging with the camera at this point in the session – really owning it!

Running With Rachel

So there it is, and yes we’re off and running with a new class of spokesmodels – off and running with Rachel!  Stay tuned as we introduce you to the rest of our crew one by one over the next couple of months as we lead into the new senior class!

Striking Gold With Leah – Again!

Having Leah represent Frameable Faces this year has felt like striking gold.  Okay brown and gold to be exact since she’s a North Farmington Raider like both of us, but we are feeling lucky to have her because she’s just so much fun to photograph.  She just has that it – she looks great, she knows how to pose, she’s sweet and we love her mom too which doesn’t hurt since she came along for the session!  Leah had an amazing spokesmodel session earlier this year so we knew it could be tough to match, but match it she did!

We are going to feature the location shots here and we captured some really nice natural photos along with plenty of fabulous city photos, so here we go…!!!

Let’s start with the natural with this close up of Leah’s smile surrounded by some pretty purple flowers.

striking gold

Beautiful right?  Let’s give a little shout out while we’re at it to Gloria Haio from The Beauty Lounge down the hall from our studio for the fantastic job on Leah’s makeup.  Next Leah changed outfits and we moved to a different spot to get a little texture with some water in the background.  Love this one….

striking goldHere is our fun behind the scenes vine of the afternoon:

Next we moved into downtown Birmingham to get some city shots…  oh – and remember the comment about striking gold?  Leah was rocking some gold and looking great for this next shot!

striking gold

Lastly we used the fountain for a backdrop for this total stunner of a photo – a great one to end on!

So there it is – striking gold with Leah – again!  We hope you enjoyed these – we certainly felt lucky to be able to spend a few more hours photographing this girl!

Excited To Be With Emily On Her Senior Session!

We were excited to be with Emily on her senior session for a few reasons.  For starters she kicked off a jam packed week of seniors which is very exciting for us.  We love our seniors!  The latter half of August is a blast, and this next series of sessions coming up on the blog might not have happened if the extended forecast going into the week had played out the way it was predicted.  They were calling for potential thunderstorms every single day – 7 straight days.  That will be a theme in the story of these next several sessions as we dodged raindrops.

Each night looking at the next day’s forecast we were nervous about whether we would be able to shoot.  With Emily we were able to start earlier than planned (shout out here to Gloria at The Beauty Lounge for her flexibility and for doing an awesome job on Emily’s makeup) and the weather held off long enough for us to complete her session.  This good fortune lasted all week and Emily certainly kicked it off in style!  What a great session!

Excited To Be With Emily

Usually with an afternoon session we start in the studio first, but with potential storms coming we started on location.  When we consult with our seniors we usually explain how we try to avoid location shooting in the middle of the day so we don’t have the sun directly overhead.  But as in Emily’s case if we have enough cloud cover then we’re fine, and as you can see above our conditions were perfect – we even got some nice backlight on her hair!  Next we went for an urban look – Emily has that versatility to pull off the pretty and the gritty (which is still plenty pretty)!  🙂

Excited To Be With Emily

Here is our fun behind the scenes vine of her session:

With the outdoor shots safely completed we headed back to the studio to finish up with some indoor work.

Excited To Be With EmilyWe think the red background is just such a nice rich look and it’s perfect for Emily’s skin tone.  She looks beautiful and we love how this pose frames her face.  Let’s close it out with the black background for a close up:

Excited To Be With Emily

Those eyes!

So we were excited to be with Emily and our excitement was certainly justified!  Sure enough the skies opened up after we were done, and that was just fine with us!  We hope you enjoyed these photos from Emily’s session!

Hey It’s Helene!!!

“Hey it’s Helene!” is what we said when she showed up with her mom and little sister to talk about booking a senior photo session with us.  We have known her since she was little, and anytime we photograph a senior we have known since she was little it’s a surreal day for us…  Helene isn’t supposed to be this beautiful high school senior yet.  Time is certainly flying by and maybe we are getting old!  But this isn’t about us – it’s about Helene!  And what a sweetheart and what a session!  Let’s start in the studio with a black and blowy shot – Helene looks fantastic here!

Hey It's HeleneNext we headed out on location and we had a perfect day!  Not too hot or humid and great lighting.

Here is a behind the scenes vine with a couple highlights of the day – you can see where we did the black and blowy…

Alesha Leads The Way For The Class of 2015!

Alesha leads the way for the class of 2015 with these photos from her spectacular senior session!  You already saw 14 members of this class as spokesmodels and those are “our” sessions where we test out new ideas.  We wrapped those up and now going forward the class of 2015 sessions belong to the seniors!

As for Alesha we have become very big fans of this girl in a very short time and we were very excited to photograph her.  We were itching to get going with our new seniors and we already had one rain out so we were not happy when we woke up to pouring rain and even some thunder on the morning of her scheduled photo shoot.  We had our eyes on the hourly forecast and it stayed pretty true to the prediction of better weather in the afternoon so we kept the appointment and crossed our fingers…

We started in the studio with our black background:Alesha Leads

Next we moved over to the white, but with a blue gel.  Using colored gels over our lights allows us to manipulate the color a bit which gives us a cool look.  Alesha looks great in the red against the blue!  This would probably be a good time to give a shout out to Gloria at The Beauty Lounge for the makeup with this close-up!

Alesha Leads

At this point we were ready to head outside and as luck would have it “outside” was ready for us!  The weather cleared up and we had a perfect afternoon!  Here is a fun little vine with a couple highlights of the day:

Love love love these next two photos – the lighting and all the green in this one is amazing!  Alesha has a natural and easy smile and this photo just works.

Alesha Leads

Alesha was a trooper – it’s a little yucky where she got in the water and she stood there and waited for one very large cloud to pass so we could get the lighting we wanted!  We took a series of photos here and here is one we like that has a bit of a unique look in black and white.

Alesha Leads

We enjoyed our time with Alesha and we are so glad to know her!  We hope you enjoyed these photos!

Leah – Senior Spokesmodeling In The Snow!

Since we photograph our senior spokesmodels from January to April we usually get a few spokesmodeling in the snow which is fine since there actually is a little demand for snow pictures every year.  This winter has been brutal and we have certainly been able to get all the snow shots we need already.  However no matter what the conditions are each year it is rare that a day lines up so perfectly where you can get nice big fluffy snowflakes fluttering gently down from the sky.  A day with no wind, not bitter cold – just right.  We had one of these days ordered up just for Leah!  But more on that later….

High School Spokesmodel

We started out in the studio so we could get some on the black background.  We used the black stool with the black once so far with this class but this look is a little different with Leah in black and crouching on the stool instead of sitting.  We are planning on using the black for every spokesmodel girl at least for a few shots even if we don’t end up showcasing them all because 1) we love the black and it is very popular, 2) it is a dramatic look and very versatile and 3) we may do something fun with all of these photos on the black when we’re done with the 2015 spokesmodels – we’ll see…  Meanwhile this next shot is a brand new look for us – a different take on being in the spotlight – literally!  We love the way this turned out.

High School Spokesmodel

We should also mention that hair and makeup for this session was done at The Beauty Lounge here in the Orchard Mall – hair by Tammy and makeup by Gloria.  They are right down the hall from our studio and The Beauty Lounge is one of three great salons here in the mall.  Next we broke out our cerulean blue backdrop and this next picture of Leah is just sweet and simple.

High School Senior Photo

At this point we were ready to go outside!

Here is a vine that will give you a little flavor of the studio portion of the session and then the winter wonderland we stepped into…

…now check this out!

spokesmodeling in the snow

We love the way Leah looks in the light dress against the white snow – white on white or black on black look great in the studio and the white on white looks great outside in the same way – it is an approach we have worked with in the past with great results, and it clearly worked again this time – spectacular!!!

Fashion and Style With Eleganza Boutique and The Beauty Lounge!

It was definitely “Haute” in the studio yesterday as we collaborated with the girls from Eleganza Boutique for images that will appear in their new catalogue!  Eleganza is a neighbor of ours down the hall here in the Orchard Mall.  They’ve been in business since 1986 and it is a fabulous LOCAL independent boutique.  Eleganza provided the fashions and the models while hair and makeup was provided by The Beauty Lounge – a fantastic salon also here in the mall!

West Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography, Metro Detroit PhotographerWest Bloomfield Photographer, Frameable Faces Photography, Metro Detroit PhotographerWe were very excited to work with them yesterday and the results speak for themselves – so sexy and glamorous!  Everyone should tap into their inner supermodel at least once, and while J and M have modeled before, J for example wowed herself with how great she looked in front of Ally’s camera!  These images represent our typical “haute” session style which we have posted before.  We’ve even included a little video of J working it!  Enjoy!  But you might need a fan to cool yourself down…..  these pics are “haute Haute HAUTE!!!”
